Description
This guy was sitting patiently and comfortably waiting for the next animal to become a victim of a motorist at his favorite spot in the Florida Everglades on Old 41. Turkey Vultures are accustomed to living near humans and snacking off of our leavings. You will often see them in farm fields or hanging out next to the road. Turkey vultures, are also known by other names in some North American regions such as the turkey buzzard, and in some areas of the Caribbean as the John crow or carrion crow, is the most widespread of the New World vultures.

Where we live, there are a zillion of these birds! I love to watch them in the morning when they are drying their wings before they fly off for the day! Wonderful work Don!!! FLTw
