Description
If you are a real cowboy you wear Shit Kickers more than those fancy boots you also own.
These boots belong to a life long cattleman, a real cowboy who loves the life he has, and the land where lives and works. He is Clint Raulerson a native Floridian living in the same area where he was born over 50 years ago. He is a well known cattleman that manages a 9,000+ acre ranch with hundreds of cattle, its not a desk job so his boots tell a part of his story. He works on the same his father and grandfather worked before him. I shot this image on the first day I had the pleasure of meeting him, I was shooting stills to be used in advertisement for an event held a month later in which Clint played a major part of. The "Immokalee Cattle Drive and Jamboree", Clint was the cattle boss that lead the 200 head cattle drive down Main Street to the Pioneer Museum at Roberts Ranch. He also explained to the crowds of people at the Jamboree what life as a cowboy in Florida is like, much of which with using his poetry (a talent he is extremely good at). Clint is the real deal more at home in the saddle and riding the range just like the generations before him.

Fantastic image, Don...I know what these are, have worn many pairs of them...f/l
Don Columbus replied:
Thank you Karen, the man in those boots is a local legend here in Southwest Florida who is greatly respected by cattlemen from all over the country. A couple of weeks ago he left here to take on a ranch in Kansas he is greatly missed by many here, including myself. I had a 3 year ride with him and the Pioneer Museum shooting hundreds of pictures about the lives of the people in the cattle industry.

Cool shot of these well-worn boots, Don. Nice edit. L/tw
Don Columbus replied:
Thanks so much Helen!! Based on what I titled this image it is not included in my exhibit, the boots from a different POV and more "G" rated title are part of the show.

This is fantastic work! The title grabbed, the work is interesting and the story is wonderful.
Don Columbus replied:
Thank you very much Ginger!! As someone who has worked in gallery sales I know the value of having a description or back story to a work, it often is what sells the work!
