Description
In almost total darkness at 5:09 AM this cowboy is having his breakfast before heading out to roundup 2,000 head of cattle and bring them to the sorting pens. His day started two hours earlier loading up his trailer with his horse and gear to getting here. His day will end around 4:00 PM. Today is payday for the rancher and the cowboy as well. This is Immokalee, Florida and this ranch will soon be gone as the value of this land far out weighs
the cost of running it as a ranch. This image is part of my "Cowboy Roots" Exhibition.

Cowboys are such a romantic emblem of the old west, and your image captures the feeling perfectly. L/F

Don, great shot with a wonderful description. It is hard to think that there are ranches in FL. f/l
Don Columbus replied:
Thank you, Cindy!! The first cattle in North America entered right here in 1521 and Florida has been producing beef ever since.
